Acupuncture Treatment for Eyesight

Located in Glenview, a Chicago suburb, Life Balance Clinic takes pride in being the pioneer in Illinois to introduce the groundbreaking AcuNova treatment system.

Developed by the renowned Danish expert, John Boel, this cutting-edge therapy incorporates newly discovered points on the hands and feet. With an impressive 80% response rate, the Acu-Vision therapy utilizing AcuNova can provide at least partial relief for a variety of eye conditions. Even genetic diseases like retinitis pigmentosa have shown positive responses to ophthalmic acupuncture, as affirmed by John Hopkins University.

Our founder, Dr. Vadim Dekhtryar, DACM has undergone extensive training with John Boel himself, ensuring the highest level of expertise in this remarkable treatment. If you are seeking John Boel's treatment in Chicago, look no further than Life Balance Clinic for exceptional AcuNova therapy and Acu-Vision solutions.

The effect of AcuNova treatment is produced due to two fundamental factors:

  • Providing a holistic complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) approach to each case treated in our clinic.
  • Vision recovery acupuncture is focused on identifying the root causes and improving these underlying conditions.

How AcuNova Acupuncture works?

The Vision Recovery Acupuncture Program is comprised of three phases:

Relief Care: This phase is designed to determine your Rate of Response to Acupuncture. Typically, it requires 10-15 treatments to gauge how fast your body responds to acupuncture. The treatments are administered twice per day with a 1-hour rest in between.

Corrective Care: During this phase, the restoration of organ function begins. Eye conditions often result from organ dysfunction. To achieve sustained vision improvement, addressing the underlying organ malfunctions is essential. This phase typically requires an additional 8-10 treatments (two per day) every six months.

Maintenance Care: The focus here is to maintain organ function at optimal levels. The number of treatments required may vary based on your dietary habits, lifestyle, and the state of your organs.

Maintaining eye health and vision is a significant concern for the United States population, especially those over 60. The eyes are highly vulnerable to oxidative issues caused by factors like light, toxins (smoking, methanol intake), oxygen, and abrasion. When UV and blue light pass through the retina to the photoreceptors (rods and cones) and pigmented epithelial (PE) cells, they generate reactive oxygen species (free radicals). To prevent excessive oxidative damage to delicate eye tissues, antioxidants play a crucial role in neutralizing these free radicals.

Research has highlighted the importance of targeted nutritional strategies to protect the macula and enhance visual acuity. In a ten-year clinical trial sponsored by the National Eye Institute, high levels of antioxidants, carotenoids, and zinc were shown to reduce the risk of advanced age-related macular degeneration and its associated vision loss by 25%. In a five-year follow-up trial, higher intakes of lutein and zeaxanthin were found to provide increased macula protection and reduce the progression of age-related macular degeneration by an additional 20%.

The Life Balance Clinic, in collaboration with Matt Conforti, Orthomolecular Products representative, has developed specific supplement recommendations tailored to different eye conditions.
